Guess we're stockers now...🥸
Everyone!!!!! Hi, how are ya? Hope that you liked my intro! Honestly this week was another slow-fast one, but still plenty(-ish) to talk about! But before we jump, I want y'all to know that if you email me, I really do love getting and reading your emails! It always cheers me up and I love hearing about home and how y'alls lives are going! So please don't ever underestimate your emails, cuz I love 'em!! Anyway, now we can jump in!
Monday: Productive-ness
I completely decked out cleaning our apartment. Like deep cleaned our apartment, do it made the house feel so much better! The we went out for lunch to Buffalo wild wings! (Sister Brauns dad sent her a gift card, so yay!) Then we went shopping and window shopping! It was fun! Then that night as we went to do tasks at Burger King, we walked in and the workers started telling us all the items that weren't available at the moment and asked if we wanted to order anyway. We said yes, and I just got a coke icee, and Sister Braun got a burger. But here's the best part: They gave Sister Braun the 10% off employee discount for her Burger! And as I went to pay, the worker kinda laughed and was like 'no'. I was like 'are you sure?' He said yeah! THEY GAVE ME A FREE LARGE COKE ICEE!!! AND SISTER BRAUN A 10% OFF EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT!!! It was so amazing and a cool miracle!!
Tuesday: Service, lessons, a cute little fam
Tuesday was service, and another great lesson with Charles! Sadly he says that he's still unsure about baptism, but he's still so close, and we're still working on it!🤞 Then we visited a cute little family! They had a 2 year old and a 10 month old, and omgoodness, they were ADORABLE!!! I so badly wanted to hold the baby, but as missionaries we can't hold babies that we're not related to. (We can hold siblings or cousins) It's for our safety so we're not accused of anything, which is fair, but still sad 😔. Anywho...
Wednesday: More lessons glore
Wednesday was packed with lessons! All of which were so fire and we called some members and they bore amazing testimonies!! Before my mission, I never realized what an amazing impact and huge role that members have in missionary work. Like members can more easily relate to missionaries friends, add to the testimonies and spirit, and stay friends for longer as they don't move around as much as the missionaries do. So just so y'all know, your super powerful!!💪💪
Thursday: Interviews
Thursday we got to go to Piqua for interviews with President McGuire! We also had district council. (We have district council on interview days as president and Sister McGuire are part of it.) Sadly Sister McGuire wasn't at interviews this time as she and President had family coming for a visit. So, yeah. But it was a great district council! As for my interview, it was ok. Now that I'm not in training, president is fairly bold in what he says, so yeah. (It wasn't a bad interview, but definitely not my best) things went back to being better afterwards as the Steiningers brought cupcakes and they were being eaten as I came back. Then after district council ended, the Bellefontaine elders gave us all a pack of oreos! (Yeah, we all individually got a pack of oreos. They only ones who didn't were the couples.) Then as Sister Braun and I went to put our stuff in the car, so we could talk without holding stuff, Elder Gertsch, (Gerch) pointed out that he and I have almost matching doc boots!! Which we do.:) Mine are just platform ones and his are not. Then we walked back in and talked, got a picture with president and the we went to district lunch! We went to a Mexican restaurant and it was really good! We all started telling stupid jokes and riddles, it was so fun!!! And as we were leaving, a kitten ran by. So Elder Gertsch shared a bit of his food with him. It was so sweet to watch!
Friday we had weekly planning and a lesson with our friend Kristina. Then Saturday we didn't have a whole lot happen, and Sunday it was so gorgeous outside! It was sunny and cooler with the trees on fire!! It was amazing, all I wanted to do was be outside!!
Funny stories:
•We went to taco bell to do some Facebook finding, and the elders were there!! So we had to leave and go somewhere else. Darn elders!! (Jk! Lol!!🤣🤣🤣)
• I saw a thing on Facebook that said 'Help! I'm lost in the Spoom! Then another guy said that the map was upside down! (I'll let you guys figure it out 😉) And because I get lost sometimes, Sister Braun and I will now start saying that we're lost in the Spoom! 🤣🤣
• One night as we were driving around and finding, I started acting as different taxi drivers!
Dax: who's from NYC and loves coffee
Gemmie: Dax's mom, and a slight crazy old lady
And Cat Noir! (If you know this one, then ya know!)
• I sent a text that said 'the gate code number thing' instead of keypad
Spiritual thought:
This week I've been thinking about how and what I think about other people. Am I thinking about them how I would? Or am I thinking about them because another person influenced my thoughts about them? Now, I'm not saying another person's influence is bad, because usually their not. But sometimes people say things that we agree with or may consider, and thus can change our perspective on another person. So then you have to ask yourself, "Is this what I really think? Or is this what I heard?"
Everyone Is a child of God, and so everyone Derserves to be treated and thought of as such! So think of other people as Christ would see them!!
Well, I've probably made this email long enough! But I hope that you've all had a fantastic week, and another fabulous one to come!! Remember that I love you, Jesus loves you, and Heavenly Father loves you!!
Until next week!
Love Sister Alex Hersom!!❤️❤️❤️
