Catholics who Drink
Hey all!!!!! I hope that this week was one of the best for you, despite the heat!! Also thank you to all those that email me! I love hearing all about home and where ever you are, and what's going on in your lives! So feel free to email, I won't be able to respond until Monday, but I loving getting and reading them!! Anyway I'm sure that your all dying to know how I've been, so let's jump in!!
Tuesday: Service and interviews
Tuesday we had our regular service and that eveing we had interviews. Service was good, I asked the people we were working with why is it called a shipment in a car, and cargo on a ship. The guy who answered tried his best to explain, but I just kept making it harder, but it was funny!
Interviews went well, for me anyway. President McGuire was just asking how I was adjusting and all that stuff, so it went well.
Wednesday: Service
Wednesday we really didn't do anything to exciting, we did our service in the morning, and then we did finding and stop-bys. So nothing much there.
Thursday: Bored!!!
Thursdays we usually have District council, but because we had district council on Tuesday, ( as that's what we do while we wait for our turn at interviews) we didn't have a lot to do. We were gonna go back to the court house and help there, but we got informed that they were taking a break after they did the wills. So instead we had to go finding all day! Which isn't bad, but it was hot and I didn't want to find all day.
But on Thursday we did get to try this amazing restaurant! There food was sooo good, and so was the radio! (Lol)
Funny story: we had got to the restaurant and because there is also a bar there, they asked us if we were 21, and Sister Hansen said yes!! I looked at her, and guess that I made a weird sound because she quickly told the host that we were underage! So last we were catholic and now we're 21, so now I just say that we're catholics who drink. Lol!
Also on Thursday, after dinner, we were at the local concert that they have here in Lawrenceburg every Thursday night, and we were asking people if they wanted to come to church. He said no he was catholic, but he also said that we could have some amazing conversations about what we believe and that he respected us for what we were doing! The people out here are soooo nice! I love it!!!
Friday we also went to dinner, to celebrate my 2 months (!!!!) and Saturday we went to a local art show which was fun and interesting. Art can be so cool, and different, but it all tells a story and expresses a different feeling. Also Sister Hansen hits her 1 year mark tomorrow!! Si we're going out to dinner for that too. Well that's pretty much our week.
Derek is doing well, he's trying to figure out his work schedule so he can meet with us again, but aside from that he comes to church and is so good! We don't have any other friends rn and that's OK, we're just doing our best in our finding efforts and we know that the lord will bless us!
If there's anything that has stood out to me this week, it's that the lord has a plan, and that we always need to trust in that and his timing. So I hope that you all find a way to trust in the lord this week!
Love you all, thanks for taking the time to read this very long email. And I'll write again next week!
Love Sister Alex Hersom ❤️❤️❤️
