Too many assignments!
The title of my email isn't anything to worry about, just a long busy-ish week! Nothing too exciting, but it wasn't bad. What did I do this week? Idk, let's find out together!
Monday: District activity!!
Monday afternoon we had our district activity!! It was games and bowling!! At first we met at the Bellefontaine church building and played werewolves, (basically like another version of mafia) which was really fun! During the part if the game where everyone closes their eyes but the storyteller, I was eating chips. (We were told to bring some snacks, so we brought chips. Also I was just a villager so... lol) and while I was eating chips with my eyes closed, Elder
Dujardin, (the storyteller) comes over and asks:"I have some chips?" (He's got a French accent) I said yes and started laughing. It was kinda random, but very funny! And then I was the person killed! But it was all good, because I got to eat more chips! Lol 😂! Then they decided to kill Sister Braun because they thought she was a werewolf. I told her that she could come to chip heaven with me, and then she voted herself out so she could eat chips with me. She was another villager tho.... Then the other villager, (Elder Gertsch) also ending up dying, so I invited him to eat chips too, but he didn't. (Oh well, more for the Springfield Sisters!) Then we went bowling!! And y'all!! I didn't do very good!! My total was 75!!😭😭😭 Even tho I got 2 strikes! (Those of you who know me pretty well, know that I like bowling, and that my average is more than 75. So I wasn't super happy with myself, but it was still fun😁)
Tuesday: Lessons and service
Tuesday we met with our friend Charles, and y'all Charles is literally so CLOSE to baptism!! Literally last week we asked him to pray at Oct 28th as a baptism date! The spirit was overwhelming strong as I asked him to pray about it. So pray that he feels right about it, and that we can get everything done that we need to with him so he can be baptized!!🤞🤞
And then about an hour later we had another lesson with our new friend Emily! She and her nephew really want to be baptized, so we'll see where this goes!
Then we had service, which was good. Then that evening we had dinner with a couple in the ward, they made us "soup" that was really good! (It was more like stew than soup) and we visited with them, so yay!
Wednesday: lessons!!
Wednesday we had more lessons! 2 of them were with members and the other 1 was with a friend! And 1 of the member lessons was lunch! Chick-fil-a, yum! And our lesson with our friend went well. Amd then we set up a time for a visit with some members around 8pm, so we show up, and it turns out that they forgot!🤣🤣 It was cool tho, we did get our visit in, and we found another Miraculous fan!! My watching party is gonna be so big! (😂😉)
Also we had to study a lot for zone conference and we had to write a talk and I had to start thinking about the talk I gave on Sunday. And a friend called and asked us to change our lesson plans tondi something else. (Hence the too many assignments)
Thursday: Zone Conference!!
Thursday was a super fire Zone Conference!! Sadly all of the ppl I know are in the Cincinnati zones, and I'm in the Dayton North zone. Sad, but still fun!! I got to meet some of the new Missionaries that just recently came out, and talk to some missionaries that I hadn't meet yet! During zone conference we learned a how to do a simplified version of "the flow". (The flow is the Ohio Cincinnati missions way of finding. We ask ppl if they want to come to church with us, and if they say yes, we have steps we take from there) I like this simpler way a lot more as we can just teach a principle instead of trying really hard to find a scripture to share with them all the time. Now we can use a scripture if we feel we need too, but it's no longer required!
Friday: Weekly planning and lessons
Friday was weekly planning, and a few lessons that we had with a few of our friends! It was good! Also we went over to members house that eveing and played uno flip with her! It was such a blast!!
Saturday was more lessons with friends, and Sunday I gave a talk in Church about forgiveness. So not much over the weekend!!
Spiritual thought:
At zone conference this week, Sister McGuire, (our mission presidents' wife) talked about the importance of us as members of the church h being the "lower lights". At night we see the light house shine, and the big light helping to guide ships. There's also at the foot of the lighthouse lower lights to help the ship see the path it should go more clearly. We as members of the church are like the lower lights. Helping our friends and family come to shore and the big light, Jesus Christ. I want to invite you this week to find a way to be the "lower light" and help someone find their way back to Christ.
Well, that's it for this week! Thanks for reading! I know that it's a little long! But I truly love you guys, and I love getting your emails and hearing from you, and your continued love, support, and prayers!!
Till next week, Love Sister Alex Hersom!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
