From Catholic friends to Muslim friends (8-13-24)
Hey, howdy, hi, how are ya?!?! What's good peeps! I'm back! I hope that you all had a great week, (+ a day) Speaking of + a day, you may be wondering why you're getting this on a Tuesday. Well my dear friends, family, and readers, today one of my biggest hopes and dreams on my mission is coming true.
I'M GOING TO THE TEMPLE!!!!😭🥹🥹🥹😍😍😍🤩🤩🥰🥰
I'm literally so excited! I can't wait!!! Anyway, here's the other cool things in my week you're probably wondering about:
Cool things:
☆Last Monday, we had our district activity! We went to top golf and that was fun! (I wasn't as bad as I thought. Thanks for letting me use your golf clubs Joe) Then we bought Costco pizza, and played signs. Omgoodness you guys, in this group of elders, it was waaaaaayyyyyyy fun!!🤣🤣 I laughed way hard. It was too fun!
☆We've been finding some cool peeps that you'll get to hear about later!
☆We had interviews with President Rasmussen! And they were so good! I love the Rasmussens! They're so sweet!
☆This weekend we had amazing weather!! Like I wanted to be outside all day this weekend it was so good! We've had our windows open it's been so good!
☆We went and visited this one inactive lady and she had some really cool collectibles! ☆Story time! So we thought that this sister was going to give us lunch, cause it kinda sounded like she was going to. But she didn't. So we went over to the wendys that was close to her house and got lunch there. The lady who served us our lunch noticed our tags, and asked if we knew elder Bringhurst. (He's the DL) Which we said yes, and then she started telling us her story! Turns out that she had been meeting with the elders, but then didn't come to church and lost contact or something, so it stopped. When we told Elder Bringhurst, he got so excited and texted her right then. I love being able to help other missionaries!!
☆Meet our new friend Sam! Sam is really cool, but something different is Sam is a Muslim! And he wants to learn more!!🤩🤩🤩 So we gave him a church tour and you could tell he felt the spirit. You could also tell he didn't know what it was, but it's a start! The other cool thing about this church tour was our member brought her non-member husband!!🤩🤩 and he was so good with Sam!!
☆Church was really good! The talks were really good and just what I to hear.
☆We went to the Satterfields for dinner on Sunday night, and it was really funny! They're such a fun family and I loved all the teen drama I got to hear about! 🤣
☆We were definitely blessed for moving our pday! Yesterday we found a friend, and we had mpls set up! Sad all our lessons fell through, but that's OK! The Lord sees our efforts!

Spiritual dance of the week:
This week as I sat in Sacrament meeting, the thought came: "If Christ were to walk into the chapel at this very moment, would I recognize Him? Would I go to Him, or would I watch Him, trying to see if I know Him?"
I thought hard about that. I'd like to think that yes, I would. But recently I've been pondering on what I've been doing in my everyday life to include the Savior. Yes, I'm serving a mission, but he's not on my mind 24/7. So now I've been trying to include Him more in my day. Saying more meaningful prayers, rather than just when we leave or have a lesson. I want to recognize the Savior when He comes again. I want to run into His open arms, sobbing because of my love for Him. I want to be able to confidently say: "I am a disciple of Jesus Christ!" I also wouldn love to see all of you there, rejoicing with me!
Ok my lovelies, that's it for this week! I'm stoked to go to the temple and I hope that you all have the best week ever!! Write nsxy week!
Love Sister Alex Hersom!
