"We are Jesus in a parking lot!"

Ayo!!! What's up peeps?! Hope that y'all are doing well! This week was actually really busy, so let's just jump right in!

This week's title came from an experience Sister Hansen and I had. We were listening to the gospel music station, (that and church music is the only stuff we can listen too. What we by choice can listen to, I don't have to plug my ears in the store😂) and this song called: "Parking lot" by Corhen & co. came on. (It's actually really good) This song talks about this guy feeling really, really, down and depressed, and while he's sitting in his car in a parking lot, he starts to feel comforted,  like Jesus is sitting next to him, and the chorus says: "I met Jesus, in a parking lot!" When Sister Hansen heard that she said, " I wanna meet Jesus in a parking lot!" I told her: "We are Jesus in a parking lot!" I said this bc when we go finding out here in my mission, we do this thing called the flow, where we ask ppl if they want to come to church with us. And we have other things that we say after that, but most ppl say no, so we are kinda like Jesus in a parking lot, or at least really close friends of his, helping others to be friends of his as well, so...

Anyway, here's the week's layout!

Tuesday: Service and visits
We finally got to go back to our regular Tuesday service!! (We could go for a few week bc we had zone conference and other meetings) it was a blast!! We got a bunch of snacks, and everyone was so happy to see us!! Then we visited some members, and that was good! 😁

Wednesday: Service and food
Wednesday we also got to go to our regular service! (Had to skip last week bc of a meeting) and the Ladies there were so grateful to see us! It's always nice to feel wanted and appreciated, you know? (I'm not saying that you all didn't make me feel that way. Pls don't think that, bc you all did❤️) Then we went had dinner with an older couple who live very, very far away from us. It took us like 45-50 minutes to get there. The drive was nice, and the couple is amazing!! We had a great lasagna, and we talked with them for a good while, it was fun.

Thursday: District council, lunch and dinner
Thursday we had district council,  which was good. We had role plays, and then real plays. Which I was confused on what that was a well, so.... Real plays are where you go and and really do after practicing in role plays. So we got paired up with someone else from the district, and the we all went knocking on different streets. Sister Robertson and I got paired up, (she is 1/2 of our STLs) and we ran into some people that had been taught awhile ago. (I only knew this bc I had texted them after looking through records) they said that they might, but they weren't there yesterday soooo idk.
Then we went to some members house for lunch, and had a smaller farm. Horses and goats and dogs, and lots of cats. It was cool, they let's us feed the horses apples😁
And for dinner we went to Kaidens family's house!!! They invited us for dinner, and then we had a super fire lesson with Kaiden!! It was amazing!!!

Friday: Member visits with Sister Loveland
Sister Loveland is our relief society president, and she has started to take us out to lunch ever week and then we go and visit sisters in the ward who aren't as active. It's actually really great for the ward to get involved in the work like that. Then we did weekly planning, and then we had dinner with a member and his non-member mom!! And I taught a fire lesson with them!!! (Bc I'm still new-ish, I have to practice teaching not only with my comp and other missionaries, but president also said with members, sooo yeah.)

Saturday: Catholic Mass
Here's what you've all been waiting for... we finally went to mass!!! It was very interesting. They sang the prayers, and yes, there was a lot of standing, sitting, and kneeling. They didn't have a hymn book, instead they had a book with that week's messages in it, and the songs that were being sung. There were pictures and statues of Jesus everywhere, and there were a lot of ppl there. It wasn't too bad, they were saying a few things that I agreed with, like they talked about sharing the gospel. Which is exactly why I'm on a mission. But I knew that they were also going to say things that I didn't agree with personally. And overall, the spirt wasn't there. It just wasn't. So you can probably imagine how grateful Sister Hansen and I became to go to church yesterday and to have our testimonies. Bc this was definitely a testimony strengthening experience. And afterward, our friends took us to dinner, it was good.

Anyway, that's about all that happened this week, nothing really exciting yesterday so.

Quick spiritual thought:
I have never been more grateful to know this gospel. I am so thankful for parents who were raised in the gospel so that I could have a chance to be raised in the gospel. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have and the knowledge that I continue to receive. I'm grateful for the spirit and that I have the gift of the holy ghost so that I can feel him often. I'm grateful for the way we do things in church, and I'm grateful that this is Jesus Christ's true, restores gospel,  and for everything that has happened in order for us to have it today!

Thanks for making it to the end! Hope that you enjoyed it! Thanks for all the emails y'all send, I love reading them, so keep 'em coming! Have the most amazing week ever and thank you all for your continued love and support!! Love you all!!❤️❤️❤️
Love Sister Alex Hersom!❤️❤️
