Transfer 6 = DL #5, wait what? (1/29/24)
Hey all, imma make this a bit shorter today. But I'm alive in case yall were wondering. And it sounds like you all are too!
This week was probably one of the most eventful weeks of my mission. Both good and things that will be good in the future.
Highlights:
☆Sister Richmond and I went bowling!!! It was soooo fun! And we both won one round!
☆District council and District lunch!! Both were fun! Sister Richmond gave the best spiritual thought! (Obvi) and for our role play, we practiced inviting youth to join us in the work. I played a youth who couldn't help bc they were going to a Bengals game! (I don't really care for football, so it was funny!) Then we went to Chipotle for lunch. (Chi-pot-l is my new way if saying it thanks to Sister Richmond) and when I asked the elders if they love their mom forever, Elder Reynolds said yes, but elder Cook shook his head no! So I said: "You don't love your mom?!?" And he was like, "oh yeah, I thought you said live with your mom. Yes I love my mom" oof! 😂
☆Sister Richmond and I danced in the rain!
☆We got to host a hermana who got her visa to go to Columbia! It was so fun! We got to take her to the airport and we got to drive the APs truck!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩 so we thought we were taking her to the airport at 7am, but she really needed to be there at 3am!! So we got up and packed the truck Friday morning and drove to the airport! (We don't normally take the sisters to the airport, it's usually the APs or a senior couple) so I've driven through downtown Cincinnati at night in the APs truck!!
☆I drove into transfers on Friday morning in the APs truck and everyone's looks of jealousy was actually the best! (I know that it sounds wrong, but I love it!) This is literally the biggest brag of my mission! (So far, but probably ever honestly)
☆Stake conference was really really good!
Well since you read that we went to transfers, you're probably wondering what happened. Sad to say, (like I really am sad) but Sister Richmond got transferred to Lawrenceburg Indiana. So, so bittersweet!
My new comp is Sister Eidemiller and I'm killing her. (This just means that she's going home at the end of this transfer, and I'm her last comp. So I'm killing her) she's pretty nice. So yeah!
Quotes:
Ah ha! I decapitated it! - Sister Richmond after taking the cap off of a container
I thought you said your soul is a tired moose - Sister Richmond
We dont get what we want now, the lord has us wait. - Sister Bryant
The lord has us wait because he has a better plan, he has something even better for us
Let me cross the street, i have souls to find! - Sister Eidemiller
He looked like a drug dealer - President McGuire talking abour his neighbor when they first moved to Washington
Spiritual thought:
The Lord allows us to go through hard things. It's hard in the moment, and we wonder what we need to learn from it. And maybe it was even hard afterward. But I can promise you that the Lord is there with you, every step of the way, guiding you. Even carrying you. Just think of the "Footprints in the sand" poem.
Well I love y'all! Thanks for reading my updates! And I hope that y'all have a great week! Love Sister Alex Hersom!
