When ya just keep getting called out! (1/8/24)

Hey everyone!!! How's it going?!? How's life?!?! How was winter break?!? How was your week?? I know mine was the same Western Hills wacky! So I'm guessing that you'd like to hear about it? Ok then keep reading!!

Highlights:
☆I let Sister Richmond cut my hair! (I'll leave a pic down below)
☆We had some great member dinners this week! We love members!!
☆We had zone conference which was really really good!! And we got the new Preach My Gospel!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩
☆We went on a hike for our morning exercise, and that was fun! And I'm not dead!! (The trail was kinda muddy from all the recent rain, so yeah)
☆President really likes to call me out rn! It's kinda funny! He's done it 2x while on our mission zoom, and he also did it at zone conference. The first time was one Tuesday night while one our mission zoom. President told us that we get to have a special extra district activity this Friday because we hit our mission goal of 223 baptisms in the year 2023!! (We actually exceeded that and hit 225 baptisms!!) Then he told us who our new mission president will be as of July. He showed us the new mission president, and his wife's, picture and said that they would be the new president for all the missionaries who will still be here in July. So I raised my hand for fun because I will be here in July, and Sister Richmond started pointing at me. Then president laughed and said, : Sister Hersom will be here." Sister Richmond and I started laughing so hard. Then the next day zone conference president was saying how we should say something in our zone chats and then call out someone else. His example was: "Sister Pope gives something she learned from personal study that morning, then she'd tag, (pauses and looks around for .5 seconds) Sister Hersom." I looked up at him and gave a thumbs up. I was kinda shocked ad I wasn't expecting that. Then last night during our mission devo, he asked me if we saw their new granddaughter that Sister McGuire is with rn. Sadly we didn't get to see her, but their grandkids are cute from what we did see!!

Friends 🤩🤩:
☆Shainiece and Taylor: Y'all please pray for them!! They really, really, really want to come to church, but the adversary is working on them so hard rn it's not even funny! But we're doing our best, and doing our best to help them, kick his butt!!!!
☆Larry has been really busy lately so we haven't had much of a chance to talk to him, but we're still trying!
☆Shawn! We met Shawn on Saturday at the bus stop! He's really cool, but definitely has some word of wisdom issues, so we'll work with him on that.
☆Alicia we found cold texting this week! She came for a church tour, but sadly had to leave right before church started. But she wants to come next week with her daughter!!

Spiritual thought:
This week as I started reading Preach My Gospel, I came to the part in chapter 1 where it talks about the power and authority that we have as missionaries. I often forget how much power my calling as a missionary holds. I am a set apart representative of Jesus Christ and I have the power and authority to act as such. The same applies to callings at church. You have been called by God and set apart to do that specific calling. And you won't be alone in doing so, because God and Jesus Christ are helping you through, quite literally, everything!!

Well my dear family and friends I think thats it for this week!! Hope that your week is magical and fun!! I love you all!!
Love Sister Alex Hersom!
