Trio life in Beavercreek (3/11/24)

Hello! Hello! How was the week? Was it good? Or hard? Or in between? I'd love to hear about it!! Anyway my week was good, from my title toy can honestly probably guess what it's about, so here's the full story!

Highlights:
☆Tuesday I hit 9 months!! And that was fun! Honestly the day was kinda rough as Facebook kicked everyone off and I couldn't remember my password and ultimately Sister Hopes had to get a new Facebook. But aside from that we got a ton of balloons from it, and Chick-fil-A! So, ya know, good!
☆Wednesday we waited alllllllllll day(!) For transfer news that wouldn't come til after 9pm. So when we finally forgot that they were coming, transfer news came! So Sister Hopes and I stayed and we also got another companion! And I'm senior comp now! (😁😱)
☆District council!!! It was so good!! And fun!! And the testimonies were fire, and so was Sister Tolman getting her spirit animal! (Which we got to help with, as elder Stevenson asked us for suggestions after transfer news) and then...
☆District lunch!!! It was sooo good! We went to this place, Roosters, and it was really good, and fairly cheap actually! The waitress that we had was really nice and so was the food!! When we got our appetizers, Sister Tolman immediately asked to trade me one of her breadsticks for one of my mozzarella sticks. I said yeah, and we traded. I then proceeded to take a bite forgetting that we hadn't prayed. So Elder Stevenson stared me down and asked if we should pray first. So with a bite in my cheek I nodded, then the predictable happened. Elder Stevenson asked me to pray. So I did! (Don't worry I blessed the food in my mouth too) anyway...
☆Transfers!!! So we actually had to help the Beavercreek elders go to transfers bc they're on bikes and Elder Stevenson was also getting transferred so the zls couldn't take 3 elders things in their car. (2/3 elders in Beavercreek got transferred) So we got to help take the elders stuff to transfers, we also helped bring stuff back. Anyway, at transfers not only did I see my queens, Sister Hansen and Sister Eidemiller, (who went home) Sister Richmond and Sister Braun, (who are now companions with another sister as well) I also picked up a queen! Meet Sister Lambert! My first younger companion missionary wise, Sister Lambert is in her 4th transfer and actually came back to Beavercreek as she was first half trained here. So yeah! She's from Riverton Utah, and graduated with her associates degree in generals before coming out in her mission! Trio life is pretty fun! We're always laughing and it's just a 24/7 party!!
☆We had an amazing lesson with our friend Eric! We planned one thing, but then lesson went a while different direction then we thought and it was still so good!!
☆We got to participate in an interfaith concert last night!! So missionaries from the Dayton and Dayton East zones got to sing in a "Missionary choir" for this interfaith concert and it was so good and so fun and sooo cool to see so many different faiths coming together to sing songs of praise! And I finally crossed off 2/2 of my mission bucket list. #1: see and dance in the Ohio rain, #2: See a black gospel singer live! And I did! Last night there was a soloist who was black and sang a traditional African-American song of praise as well as a fun upbeat one. I was so excited as he went on stage and explained everything!!! And it was amazing!!!🤩🤩 Also the 2 elders in front of me fell asleep during part of it and we were trying to keep our laughing down so we didn't wake them. Especially after president McGuire took a picture of them sleeping!🤣🤣🤣 It was great!
☆I also got to see Sister Richmond and Sister Braun there too as they were also assigned to sing with us, so yay!! And then because it was all the Dayton stakes that were participating, I got to see the Hellwigs from Springfield!!🤩 It was so good to see them again!!

Friends:
☆DJ did what we call "dropped us." He texted us this week and told us that he was to busy to learn rn, but will reach out again when life calms down. So sad, but at least he's honest.
☆Eric! He doing great!!! He's so open to learning and wants to learn more and work toward baptism!! The only rhino is he hasn't come to church yet, but hopefully this week!!

Other then Eric who's our only friend rn, we're on a find grind! So yay for future people who want to come to church!

Spiritual thought:
Repentance. We often here this word in church and in classes and even in the 5 steps to the gospel of Jesus Christ. But what is Repentance? Like actually? Repentance is not only feeling remorse for what you've done wrong and acknowledging it, it's truly changing from our ways and turning towards the Savior. Jesus Christ suffered everything that you ever have and ever will go through and feel and he did it all so you can repent and one day return to heaven. Because He loves you! So is repentance a bad thing? Absolutely not! Repentance is a gift through the atonement. Our Heavenly Father knew that we would mess up, so He sent us His Son to perform the atonement so that we can repent. As I've learned about repentance and how to go about it, it's definitely strengthened my testimony of repentance and the atonement! Always remember why we have it and teach that repentance is good, not a bad thing.

Well I think that's all for this week! I hope that you guys enjoyed my novel and congratulations if you made it this far! On that note I hope that you have a fantastic week and that you have fun during it!
Love y'all!
Love Sister Alex Hersom!
