I had a title, and then I forgot (5/20/24)
Welcome back to Beavercreek y'all!! I hope that you had a fantastic week! This week i feel like some much happened, yet not so much all at the same time. But I do got some good stories out of it so, onward!!
Highlights:
☆Tuesday I started to feel not 100%. So I asked the elders and Elder Vincent to give me a blessing on Tuesday night, to help me not get sick. And they did! And it was so good! I literally can't tell you how much I love the priesthood!! It's one of the biggest blessings ever!!
☆Wednesday was... my Birthday! You guys!!!! Thank you do much for all the love and messages and cards!! I felt so loved!! You guys are the best!!! When I woke up, Sister Lambert was standing over my bed to tell me happy birthday, and that im old. I then said, thanks and said uhh! Im old! (I know 20 isn't that old, but we joke about it a lot.) Anyway! We also had exchanges and that was good! The STLs tried to decorate their apartment, but I guess we got there to fast! Lol. But they made me some cupcakes and and we had a great exchange! All my lessons fell through,(except for a memeber dinner we had which was fantastic!) but we did some finding and Sister Lambert got the lessons with friends!
☆The member dinner was really good! They made us spaghetti, and it was really good! We were with the other Fairborn sisters. So it was me, Sister Stowers, (the STL. Also it's pronounced st-OW-ers) and then the other Fairborn sisters, Sister Hanamaikai, (han-a-my-ky) and Sister Roberts! The members were this cutie little family with a 2 year old and another one on the way! We talked about his mission and all his fun stories and everything he learned from it, and then also some of our own stories!
☆Also I can't remember why, but we were talking about how old we were, and fun fact: I'm actually one of the younger sisters in the mission. Some sisters who came out after me, are actually older then me, so I'm younger in this mission. Anyway as we were talking about it, Sister Hanamaikai asked me when my birthday was. (This was all Wednesday btw) so I said: Today. And she was like oh yeah! And the members were like, oh happy Birthday! And it was just funny!
☆Thursday we had interviews! I love President!! I'm gonna miss them so much when they leave next month! We had a good district council! I gave a spiritual thought about the Book of Mormon, and apparently sassed Elder Reynolds trying to get a more thought out answer from him. (I didn't hear myself being sassy I promise and I wasn't mean so... yeah we're good!) But it was really good! I started by asking what everyone's favorite book was, Sister Dahle and Sister Hanamaikai said the Book of Mormon, and Sister Roberts said 'Anne of Green Gables'! The other 2 sisters looked at her like she was crazy but I was laughing, and the proceeded to back her up as I pointed out that I didn't say religious book. Then that's when Elder Reynolds jumped with 'Diary of a Whimpy Kid'! This district is fun! And I promise that I did get a spiritual thought in! Then president came in to get Sister Roberts and accidentally called her by the wrong name! Lol
☆Anyway, my interview went well! He explained to me why he called Sister Roberts a different name, and then told me that he does get his older missionaries names right. (Noooooo, he called me an older missionary!😭😭😭💀 Quick no one tell Sister Richmond or Sister Braun! IM NOT OLD) Anyway, my interview was good! Again I love president and will be so sad when he goes home.
☆And after I got a blessing, I skipped being sick and went into the after stages! So yeah I have been a little out of it this weekend. Getting over it has taken longer then I want, but I'm getting there!
☆Stake conference was absolutely amazing!!! It was so uplifting and what I needed to hear!
☆Our DL and his comps are so funny! They've been making "Cooking with Beavercreek" videos! They've made pancakes and brownies so far, and I'm excited to see more!
Well, sorry that was such a novel! I did warn you guys that I had stories! But aside from that, here are this week's quotes! (Sorry there's not that many, we've been trying to get over this sick crap)
Quotes:
I don't wanna burn my fingers anymore. Not with the evil toaster - Sister Lambert
I put the dead cow down bc he needs to rest in peace not in pieces!!! - Sister Lambert
Dead guys don't talk! - me to Sister Lambert
This dead guy does. This dead guy talks a lot. This dead guy is a Hoosier - Sister Lambert in response
Friends:
Sadly we're not teaching anyone. We have no friends right now. We have a some referrals that we've been trying to get into contact with, and yeah that's pretty much it!
Spiritual thought:
This week I've been thinking a lot about the second coming. As we've watched the Book of Mormon videos in 3 Nephi about Christ's appearance to the nephites and as I've also happened to be reading there for my personal study, I've been thinking a lot about the signs of His 2nd coming. Will we recognize them? Will we know? How will we react when we realize what's happening? How will we greet Jesus? Will we be excited to be in His presence? Or will we want to hide? (Those last ones were asked in stake conference and I thought that they fit really well) But truly how have we been treating others and ourselves to get ready for His coming? As I've reflected on this, I've realized that I could use some improvement. (We all can really) And as I've wondered about what it will be like in His presence, i can't help being excited to see my Older Brother again! I'm excited for the Second Coming!
Well my dear friends and family, I think that's it for this week! Again sorry for the novel, but I hope you enjoy the stories! I hope that you have a fantastic week and I'll write again next week! Love you all!
Love Sister Alex Hersom!
