Yes, I do love singing! Oh, you mean in front of a crowd?! (8/5/24)

 πŸŽΆHey-o! I said Hey, ey, ey, o! Monday's coming and I wanna email y'all!🎢

(What do you think dad? πŸ˜‰) Hope y'all liked the intro! Anyway this week was actually kinda slow, but good nonetheless! So here we go!!

Highlights:
☆Tuesday we got 2 refferals and made them into friends! One ended up living in Florida, but ya know!
☆We had to buy ice for Zone conference,  so Tuesday night we bought ice, put it in thr car, drove to the church to put it in the freezer for the next day, and shoved in the freezer! πŸ˜‚
☆Wednesday was Zone conference, and it was fire as crap!!!  It was all about revelatory weekly planning! (I honestly didn't know what to expect cause I'm not really that wants to super plan things out... but it was sooo good!!)
☆President Rasmussen kept running around and taking pictures of everything and everyone! πŸ˜‚ it was so funny to watch but also very sweet of him!
☆Story time! So we were in the hall talking to Sister Rasmussen and Sister Holmes, when one of them asked us if we were singing the musical number they had. We said no, and then when asked why not, I just said I don't like performing. Then Sister LeSueur ratted me out by saying I was a good singer! (C'mon queen!πŸ˜‚) So that was a whole conversation. Then we walked in the chapel a bit later, and all the missionaries that were in the chapel, were singing. Again, the senior couples tried to convince us to go up. We didn't. Then, Elder Webster came down from the stand, after they practiced, gently grabbed my hand, and asked: "Don't you sing?" Me "Yes" Him "Then why aren't you up there?" 🀦‍♀️ I explained that I didn't want to, and he was sad. (I also have no idea how he knows I like to sing. I don't remember telling him) So then when it came time to perform, he asked me of I was coming. And, I did! I went up and sang! And the best part was, so did all the other missionaries but one companionship!🀯πŸ₯³πŸ₯°  I later told Elder Webster that I sang, cuz he asked me too. But truly I think the Lord has been trying to tell me something. (Keep reading to find out why)
☆Thursday to Friday we had exchanges!! It was really fun! We had some really good lessons and I even flowed past the no! πŸ₯³ (the flow is how we do our finding here in the OCM. We ask people to church and then go from there. So these people said maybe and I just went past those maybes and made them a yes! And a friend)  We also played Phase 10 and I fought to win. We never got to the last round, so no one has really won yet. And we had some really good Chinese food. πŸ˜‹
☆Friday we had some really good weekly planning after implementing what we learned from Zone conference!
☆Saturday we had Chipotle for dinner! I don't know why you need to know that other then the fact that it was good!
☆Yesterday at church we had a really good sacrament/testimony meeting!
☆We also were dot hopping, and when we knocked a less active family and they let us right in! We had a fun visit getting to know them! Hopefully we'll go back soon!

Quotes:
7/29-8/5
Look, there's my man! Jesus! He's the only man I need! He's my boyfriend. He's my only frog. - Sister LeSueur talking to her dad
That bathroom is not it! - Sister Zullo when she didnt like the bathroom

Friends:
☆Cameron is doing good! We got back into contact with him and made sure this is still what he wants. It is! Sadly he didn't come to church, we don't know why yet though.
☆Ryan were trying to meet with. He's trying to decide what he wants, but he does want to meet with us. So.
☆Jim. Idk if we ever talked about him, but we dropped him because he was being kinda mean and he wasn't really doing anything to move forward, so. Sad but true.

Spiritual thought:
Ok, the reason I said I think the Lord is trying to tell me something is this: Brother Watterson was conducting sacrament today and when he got up to bare his testimony, he started talking about how he appreciates people who have musical talent and share it. (Any talent really) and that got me thinking, (as did my experience at zone conference) Am I hiding my talent? The Lord asked us not to hide our talents in the parable of the talents. We were each given talents to be able to share them with others to help them, and us, on our journey back to our Heavenly Father. We have talents and spiritual gifts in order to serve God, help and strengthen others on the way, and to enjoy. So as I'm learning not to hide my talents, please don't hide yours. I love receiving things from talents being used! And so does out Heavenly Father

Ok, well that's all for now. I hope that you all have a fantastic week! I'd love to hear about it, so feel free to drop me an email! I love you all! Writer again next week!
Love Sister Alex Hersom!
