Moving forward fast (11/04/24)
Doesn't it seem like it? Like time is moving forward fast? Anyway...
Hello everyone!! Welcome to grateful month! I'm so happy to be here with you!! I hope you all had a fantastic week! I did, and it was fast!! So let's get into it!!
Good on goings on:
☆This district is so fun!! I love them all and I love serving with them and being around them!! Elder Cummings bought me and Sister Brewer our own 2 liter bottle of our favorite soda this last week! He's so sweet!
☆Worked hard on that 1,500 piece puzzle. Which I am now proud to say is complete!!🥳🥳
☆At service this week, we didn't give Scotty, (the pig) a bath, but we did rub some baby oil on him to help him! And I got in the pen! Like in the pen, with the pig! (It's safe, I promise. The ladies that work there would tell us otherwise) so that was fast! And fun!
☆Halloween we had district council! Again, love this district!
☆After district council, we went to lunch with the Tipp Sisters. Sister Brewer wanted to go to Sonic for their 50 cent corn dogs. So we did. We ended up buying 16 corndogs.... 16!!🤣🤣 We totally didn't mean too, but it's a funny story. We pulled into a stall and I ordered 8, 2 for each of us. Then nothing happened on the screen. (They later told us that they weren't working right) so we waited a few minutes. Then Sister Brewer and Sister Bundy decided to try again at a different stall thing. So Sister Wolfley and I waited in the car. A few minutes later, a lady comes with our corndogs. So we pay and go to get the other sisters. We'll they have 8 corndogs too! So now we have 16 corndogs. 4 for each of us. And, we did eat them all. 🤣🤣 That was fun, anyway.
☆One of the radio stations we can listen to started playing Christmas music!! 🤩🤩Sister Brewer and I got really excited!
☆Hallloween night, we had to be in by 6pm. So we ate dinner, played Kahoot with half the mission, did some bingo finding, and had our mission devotional. Our devotional was given by 2 sisters who got to the mission recently after serving in the Kirtland Historic Site mission for 5-ish months! It was good!
☆We had 2 member dinners this week! This ward is so cute!!
☆We had 3/4 friends at church on Sunday! And church was good!
☆The elders friend Mike, who's on date, got up and bore his testimony in Sacrament meeting yesterday!! It was really cool!
☆We also got to watch the Young Adult devotional that Elder Bednar gave on Sunday night! It was really good!
Quotes:
10/28-11/3
Why would you call them "shunuggets"? I know its sheetz' nuggets. But it sounds to close to snot, or shove it - Sister Brewer talking about chicken nuggets from sheetz (a gas station. It's kinda like maverick, but it also makes fried food and they're really good!)
Friends:
☆Debbie were actually meeting with tonight!! She came to church yesterday! Also this week we were walking into a McDonald's to do some tech work when we heard a "Hi Sisters!!" We turned around and Debbie was in her car driving somewhere! She later told us that she was on her way to the bank to get money to pay Tithing!🤯🤯🥳🥳🤩🤩 Like what!??! That's awesome! So we're super excited for tonight!!
☆Kathy we met with this week! She couldn't make it to church cause she got sick. We're trying to figure our if she has a desire to learn more...
☆Kiryn we finally got in contact with!! We are going to be meeting with her next Sunday after church!
Spiritual thought:
As I did the puzzle this week, I was trying to think about how it relates to the gospel. (Classic, right?) And obviously there are several different ways it could go. But today I'm going to relate it to our lives. Sometimes in life, it gets hard and it gets busy. Throughout this puzzle there were several pieces that looked similar, so I would try to use them, but they didn't work. I also would move on from place to place even when the section wasn't fully complete. The main piece I was working on was, but not the whole section. And sometimes in life we have to do that. Work on a piece of something but them come back to to later. Because what we are working and what we were working on, will connect. Every way we try to better ourselves through Jesus Christ will all connect because it's the person He sees us becoming! You can always ask for help and you can always pray for guidance and direction. You can also pray for peace and comfort when you need it!
I hope that made sense because it did in my head... lol
Well, that's it for this week! We dint have to much excitement going on this week, but you never know! I hope you a have a great week and that you stay grateful! Write again next week!
Love, Sister Alex Hersom!
